Plumbatube
A Patented concrete form alignment tool made in America
What the heck is PLUMBATUBE?
Plumbatube is a tool to use with cardboard or plastic tubular forms such as manufactured by Sonotube, The Footing Tube etc. and used in the forming of concrete footings, piers, foundations etc..
How do you use this tool?
Plumbatube is very easy to use, whether you are a do it yourself homeowner or a professional builder and want an easy and more accurate way to install concrete tubular forms, it takes the guess work out so your structure above, whether it is a beam or post will now have the opportunity to fall dead center on your new concrete pier.
The idea is to keep the top of your forms plumb and square to each other as well to and existing structure.
When you use plumbatube this locks in the exact specified building dimensions.
The old method would be digging your holes for each tube, dropping the tubes in the holes, now you have no idea what the base dimensions are from one tube to the other.
With the Plumbatube method you easily lock in the top dimensions then before you back-fill you plumb your tube with a level, the top remains square.
How do I lock the tubes together?
Simple, use 2x4's or even 2x2's, we recommend using 2x4's, after your pier installation save them for your building project. Some contractors save them for future use as most cut them for 8 foot on center installations, which saves them time and money.
Each Plumbatube is designed @ 360 degrees and has 8 standard degree brackets which works for most installations. Between each bracket are string slots at 5 degree intervals, this allows the use of "plumb bobs" allowing you to drop down to a 2nd Plumbatube to create almost any angle for complex installations.Basically you could have a complex deck installation at multilevel' s and set up all of your tubes for one pour of concrete. Save on repeat excavation equipment and short loads of concrete. We recommend using truss screws to secure the 2x's to the Plumbatube tool which have in a built in washer for more gripping power.
What type of material is Plumbatube?
Plumbatube is made from a high density plastic and very strong.
Where can I purchase Plumbatube?
